What are 10ml e-liquids?
10ml vape liquids, sometimes known as TPD liquids, are the most common size of e-liquid in the UK and the maximum size allowed if it the e-liquid contains nicotine.
What is freebase nicotine?
10ml e-liquids typically contain ‘freebase nicotine’ which is extracted from the tobacco plant. Freebase nicotine tends to provide a harsher throat hit when vaped, which can be beneficial to ex-smokers looking to closely replicate the sensation and throat hit of smoking a real tobacco cigarette, minus the chemicals, carbon monoxide, carcinogens, heat and tar.
Like all nicotine containing liquids in the UK, freebase vape liquids are limited in size to 10ml TPD bottles (Tobacco Products Directive by the EU, now TRPR under UK law).

How many cigarettes is 10ml?
As 10ml e-liquids can have anywhere between 0mg and 18mg nicotine, it’s hard to say how many cigarettes is equivalent to one bottle of 10ml e-liquid. It also depends on the device you vape with, the coil it uses, the vapour produced and the e-liquid consistency.
As a rough guide, a 10ml bottle containing a 20mg/ml e-liquid would typically contain around 100 cigarettes worth of nicotine, minus the tar, carbon monoxide, carcinogens, chemicals and heat produced by combusting tobacco. That makes them ideal for heavy smokers.
Whereas a 10ml e-liquid with 3mg/ml nicotine strength would contain approximately 10 cigarettes worth of nicotine per bottle, making it ideal for vapers looking to reduce their nicotine consumption after switching.
Why are e-liquids sold in 10ml bottles in the UK?
In the UK, TPD & TRPR laws state that e-liquids containing nicotine can only be sold in a maximum bottle size of 10ml, and they must not exceed a nicotine strength higher than 20mg/ml. This is why e-liquids tend to be sold in 10ml bottles in the UK.
However, you can purchase zero nicotine e-liquids (which are not subject to TPD laws) in larger bottles up to 100ml, and then buy 10ml bottles of pure nicotine that can be separately added directly into the bottle.
Is 10ml vape juice a lot?
10ml of vape liquid is not considered a lot of e-liquid. It is the maximum bottle size that can be sold in the UK containing nicotine, however zero nicotine vape liquids can be bought in sizes up to 100ml and beyond.

Is vaping 10ml vape juice a day a lot?

Is 2% nicotine a lot in a vape?
2% nicotine is the highest strength available in the UK, and is often written as 20mg/ml or simply 20mg.
It is the highest legal strength allowed in Britain and usually comes in the form of salt nicotine, or nic salt, offering a smoother throat hit even at higher strengths which can mask the strength of the nicotine. Freebase nicotine is typically available in a maximum of 18mg/ml, or 1.8% nicotine, but provides a much harsher throat hit.

Do 10ml e-liquids have an expiry date?
Yes, 10ml vape liquids are consumable products and must have an expiry date printed on the bottle as well as a batch code, so you and the manufacturer can check if the e-liquid is still in date.
If you cannot find the expiry date, or if you have any concerns about a particular e-liquid expiry, you can contact the manufacturer who will be able to use the batch code on the bottle to identify the expiry date for the liquid.
